How It Works

From First Contact
to Finished Metal

Five steps. Plain language. No mystery about what happens between your first call and the finished product on your job site.

1
Step One
Inquiry

You reach out. That's it. There's no wrong way to start. A phone call, an email, the quote form, or a set of uploaded plans all get the project into review. The more you can share upfront — photos, dimensions, location, rough timeline — the faster the first response.

What Helps Most

  • Photos of the site or existing conditions
  • Dimensions (even rough measurements help)
  • Project type and material preference if known
  • Timeline and location
  • Drawings or sketches if you have them

Step Two
Scope Review

Fine Edge reviews the project details and follows up with any clarifying questions. For straightforward work, this is brief. For complex projects — structural steel, multi-phase fleet builds, architectural installations with code implications — this stage involves a direct conversation to align on scope before the quote is built.

What Happens Here

  • Material and finish selection if not specified
  • Site visit scheduling if field measurement is needed
  • Code or permit discussion for applicable scopes
  • Clarification of design intent
  • Timeline feasibility check
1–3 business days
3
Step Three
Quote and Approval

A formal quote is provided with line-item pricing, material specifications, and a production timeline. Standard work is quoted in 2–3 business days after scope is confirmed. Complex or large-scale projects may take longer. Once the quote is approved and deposit received, the job enters the production schedule.

Deposit and Approval

  • Quote reviewed and questions answered
  • Revisions handled before approval
  • Deposit required to enter production
  • Production start date confirmed at approval
  • No work begins without signed approval
Quote in 2–3 business days
4
Step Four
Fabrication

Work begins at the Hallandale Beach shop. Standard handrail and fencing work typically runs 7–14 business days in production. Structural steel and larger commercial scopes are scheduled with confirmed production windows. Van upfitting builds vary by complexity. You're updated when production is complete and ready for delivery or install coordination.

During Fabrication

  • Steel cut, formed, and welded to spec
  • Finish applied (powder coat, paint, or raw)
  • QC check before leaving the shop
  • Install coordination scheduled in parallel
  • Client notified when ready
7–21 business days (scope dependent)
5
Step Five
Install or Delivery

For installation work, a Fine Edge crew arrives on-site at the confirmed appointment. Site conditions are confirmed, the work is installed, and any final adjustments are made before the crew leaves. For delivery-only jobs, coordination is handled directly. Final payment is due at installation or delivery.

At Completion

  • Crew arrives within confirmed window
  • Installation completed to spec
  • Site cleaned and work inspected
  • Any inspection scheduling handled if applicable
  • Final payment due at completion
Confirmed appointment window
The biggest variable is scope clarity at the start. Projects that come in with clear dimensions, site photos, and a defined material preference move significantly faster from inquiry to quote to production.
